In the the garden
an offense
by one who
came from clay;
would in a span
be set aright
by One Who’s of
eternal Day.
O’er all flesh
and creeping things,
o’er earth and heav’n
did slav’ry reign.
On all a bondage
of corruption weighed
until the Lamb of God
was slain.
The disobedience
of one
brought sin and death
upon us all;
but through submission
of Another
can one be rescued
from the Fall.
Now the gulf
of separation’s bridged;
all malice
made to cease.
For now we’re justified
by faith in Christ
and at last with God
have peace.
