With a Wedding

"With A Wedding"

It began
with a wedding.

Two lovers
late into a perfect world.
Joined in union
by their Creator;
The Starkindler
from Ancient Days.

Then Sin came,
which brought Death;
Binding the universe
with bonds of corruption.
Only a Bridegroom
redeeming His wayward Wife
could loose Nature
from these fetters.

He fought against
His Beloved's Warden
and was struck down in battle
upon being given the choice
of His Life, or Hers.
Lying in a grave
but for a moment,
He rose again,
sealing the ransom
for His Love.

Then at last
He triumphs over His enemy.
Over Sin and Death.
Then takes His Rightful Seat
and comes to claim
His now spotless Bride
and dwell in
wedded bliss
forevermore.

And so it continues into
eternity...
with a wedding.

O Death! (A Condescending Taunt)

("...and having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly triumphing over them..." Colossians 2:15 Praise the Lord that He's triumphed over sin and death!)

O Death!
You've struck down many warriors,
yes, many strong men have been cast down by you.
Yet you are powerless.
Fortresses are no defense against you,
and you laugh at the shakings of a spear;
yet you are weak.

O Grave!
You cannot be bribed with wealth
or your blow softened by hoards of riches.
But you are impotent.
No wisdom or art can dissuade you from your task,
nor can any device of human intellect deliver from you.
But you are nothing.

For you've been defeated by a Conqueror slain
from the foundation of the world.
You've been rendered powerless by
the Almighty.
Your fangs, vile dragon, have been torn from your mouth,
your head been crushed by the heel
of a great Warrior.

You have have your way with this house of mud
for a season, yet in my flesh will I see God.
For He's triumphed over you gloriously,
and given me the victory over your wiles
for all time.

Soon the lake of fire prepared
for you and your minions
will become(Praise t
your habitation forever!
